Christopher Knight – Law Clerk
After graduating from East Bay High School in 2002, Mr. Knight enlisted in the United States Army. Upon completion of Infantry School and Airborne School, he was assigned to 1/30th Infantry Regiment 3rd Brigade 3rd Infantry Division. He served on the front lines of the Iraq War in 2003 and returned for a year long rotation in 2005-2006. Upon returning from his second tour in Iraq, Mr. Knight was assigned to the Command Exhibition Parachute Team: The Silver Wings where he served as a freefall demonstrator and assistant event coordinator. After his six year contract was up, he transitioned from active duty to the Florida Army National Guard and served briefly with the 53rd Infantry Regiment in Pinellas Park, FL as a state liaison for disaster relief. In 2010, Mr. Knight was medically discharged from service for injuries incurred while serving the United States.
Since he left service, Mr. Knight attended the University of South Florida’s Honors College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, along with completing the Honors College Curriculum. During his time at USF he earned the Deans List recognition and was inducted into three honors societies which include the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Sigma Iota Rho for International Honors, and the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Honor Society. After graduating in 2012, Mr. Knight was accepted into the Washington D.C. based internship for the United States International Council on Disabilities and worked for Medical Care Development International where he actively designed and wrote a class that is currently being taught in Benin, West Africa to assist in disability management and malarial care.
Mr. Knights academic pursuits did not stop when he graduated college. He began a Master of Business Administration at Saint Leo University where he holds a 4.0 GPA. He placed the MBA on hold though when he was accepted to the Stetson University College of Law where he is a current candidate for the juris doctor degree. Since he started at Stetson, Mr. Knight has assisted the Federal Public Defender in their innocence initiative, been accepted into an internship with the Florida Attorney General, and become a co-author of an up-and-coming 2nd Amendment paper to be offered for peer-review.
A philanthropist at heart, Mr. Knight is involved in community organizations aimed at bettering the world around him and ensuring children are given opportunities to thrive. While law school keeps him busy, Mr. Knight is happy to volunteer his time to charities and organizations in the Tampa area to help those causes that are devoted to bettering the lives of those that live in the community. Along with community development and youth projects, Mr. Knight enjoys fishing, boating, and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Knights dedication to his country, his education, and his community are something that you can see and feel in everything he does. His fervor for the law and to help people come across in a way that any client would happy to have him fight for them and that is why he is a welcomed addition to the Alvarez Legal Group
